Hi — we're Tyler and Brooke.

In early 2013, on an early date, Tyler handed Brooke a Sanderson novella called The Emperor's Soul. We pretty much never stopped that conversation — and in October 2017, we decided to turn it into a podcast.

This is pretty much our only qualification. We think it's a good one.

Nine years and 199 episodes later, Cosmere Conversations remains two lovers of the Cosmere pulling on threads and seeing where they lead. Through five Shardworlds, a dozen magic systems, and whatever Brandon is writing next. Every episode is #AllSpoilers. On purpose.

This is a home for curious worldsingers — people who love these books enough to spend a commute theorizing with us. No gatekeeping. No test at the door. Start anywhere.

Who we are, individually

The hosts.

We make the show together, but we're also two people with our own things going on.

Tyler Shotwell

Tyler is one half of Cosmere Conversations. He plays on Shard of Opportunity, the Cosmere TTRPG actual-play, as a Player Character in the Canonwalkers campaign, and has been a Brotherwise Cosmere RPG playtester. He is available for hire as a Cosmere TTRPG Game Master for canon and homebrew campaigns.

Brooke Shotwell

Brooke is the other half. She reads Brandon Sanderson the way most people read the news — completely and with strong opinions. When she's not recording, she works in educational media.

What to expect

How Cosmere Conversations works.

We release new episodes every other week. Every episode is #AllSpoilers — we talk about all of Brandon's books as if you've read them, because we've built the show for readers who have. If you haven't yet, don't worry: you can still browse the archive by Shardworld and find conversations about the books you've already finished.

Episodes come in a few shapes: the main biweekly conversations between the two of us, Nexus panels recorded live at Dragonsteel Nexus, Interludes for smaller topics, RPG one-shots when we play in the Cosmere ourselves, and the annual State of the Sanderson reaction.

We have guests. Often they're other Sanderson podcasters — but also regularly folks from across the broader bookish community. Our guest list is one of the things we're proudest of; see the full guest index.
